Poem: Death is the Equalizer

Posted by on July 7, 2013

Death is the Equaliser

Just ride on by

with your pretty smile,

uplifted spirit

soaring in style

Nothing to stop you

from your great mission,

searching for one

to equal your passion.

So ride on by

with your pretty smile,

keep on going for miles and miles

Whatever you do

you won’t turn round

flying faster and faster

than speed or sound

The wings you don

are far too great

to wait for others

who have bloomed too late

Leave the flowers

painting the earth,

and fly hard forwards

to prove your worth

And when you fall

back in our midst

our petals will grace

your cold smiling lips
